NEW TENNIS BASED MEMBERSHIP FEES AND INCLUSIVE FLOODLIGHT CHARGES
A reminder that as of 1st November the cost of all tennis packages will increase according to the attached. As of this date there will be no additional charge for the use of Tennis floodlights. The new price point will be applied upon the next renewal of your annual membership.

Using Tennis Floodlights as of 1st November

In the coming months we will be introducing an automated system of floodlight control that will be integrated into our MyCourts booking system. As of 1st November, and until the go-live date all members are asked to note the following:

· A stock of tokens will be available in the kitchen that members can use to activate tennis floodlights on their court.

· It is a stipulation of our licence that ALL floodlights must be switched off promptly at 10PM
· Please only insert enough tokens to cover your booking period

· Please do not insert a light token after 9:30pm / or a quantity of light tokens that will leave floodlights on after 10pm

· For administrative reasons refunds on pre-purchased tennis light tokens will not be offered. If you have a stock of tokens, please use these up over the coming weeks.

· At this point there are no planned changes to current the system of the purchase and use of squash tokens

Further information on the planned upgrade to the Tennis floodlights will be provided early November following a site meeting with our chosen vendor to confirm timelines and final installation details.

JUNIOR HALF-TERM TENNIS CAMP

From Monday 24th-28th October tennis camps are running at Grafton. Camps can be booked on selective days or at a discounted price for the full week.
7 and unders 9am-12pm £30 per day
8 and overs 9am-3pm £60 per day
10% discount if a full week is booked.

COURT BOOKING RULES - TENNIS AND SQUASH

In the spirit of Grafton, we ask everyone to be mindful of our booking rules which are designed to help everyone have a fair chance of playing, and to be able to play safely.

If you have to cancel a court, please try to do so as early as possible. If it has to be a last-minute cancellation, then please put a message on The Grafton Chronicle or Squash WhatsApp chat, so someone else can make the most of that court. All bookings, including last minute bookings, need to comply with the below rules:

Please state your opponent on your bookings. If practising on your own please select “Serving Practice" or “Solo Practice as your "opponent". Note these bookings are only permitted during off-peak hours.

Similarly squash guests are only permitted during off-peak hours.

Bookings with no opponents selected within 72hrs in advance of play will be cancelled.

Please bear in mind the below hours:

WEEKDAYS:

08:00-16:00 Off Peak Tennis
16:00-22:00 Peak Tennis
08:00-17:30 Off Peak Squash
17:30-21:15 Peak Squash

WEEKENDS:

08:00-16:00 Peak Tennis
16:00-22:00 Off Peak Tennis
08:30-14:30 Peak Squash
14:30-23:00 Off Peak Squash

PEAK AND OFF- PEAK TENNIS ACTIVITIES

The below is particularly pertinent to off-peak tennis members, so please note:

SOCIAL TENNIS
Wednesday : Only Peak Tennis members may attend
Sunday: Peak and Off Peak Tennis members may attend

TENNIS TEAM PRACTICES
Monday / Tuesday / Friday / Weekends : Only Peak Tennis members may attend
Leagues and Tournaments: Only Peak Tennis members may participate.

If you believe your tennis booking warrants an exception, or is an unusual booking, then please contact graftoncomms@gmail.com in plenty of time to further discuss. Questions? Please email graftoncomms@gmail.com well in advance of your court booking to avoid disappointment.

Not receiving Email Newsletters?

  • Login and check you email address is correct.
  • Contact Us if you changed your email address.
  • Check you spam/junk folders (and mark the message as "not spam/junk" if you find it there).
  • Add "grafton@no-reply.mycourts.co.uk" to your Contacts list or email address book.
