Greetings Graftonites: Welcome to the new weekly Grafton newsletter! The club is a vibrant community with lots going on and we need to combine the numerous club e-mails into a more manageable format. No more ad-hoc e-mail messages several times a week that can be hard to keep track of. From time to time we may need to release an additional emergency broadcast, but our intention is to make this, along with our Facebook members’ page, our regular source for club news. We are going to trial sending just the one broadcast per week for the coming couple of months. TENNIS CLUB CHAMPS DRAW COMPLETED
On Sunday 24 April the Club Champs draw was completed for all the Summer tournaments. Please go to the Clubhouse to see who your opponents are and “analyse” the draw. The draw will also shortly be up on http://grafton.mycourts.co.uk/ in the tab called “Tournaments”. Please make sure your contact details are up to date, so you can start organising your matches as soon as possible. Please also make sure that you have paid your entry fees and your membership fees. RACKLETON 30 APRIL TOURNAMENT POSTPONED DUE TO THE BANK HOLIDAY .
Thank you to those who have shown an interest in and entered the 2016 Grafton Racketlon Open, scheduled for the 30th April. It would appear that there was a slight oversight on our part as to how much the bank holiday weekend would affect the level of entries received, and as such we have taken the decision to postpone the event until further notice, with aim of making it as successful a day as was enjoyed last year. Please could all who have paid see the bar for a refund, and please keep your eyes peeled in the near future for the new date, likely to be scheduled for either June, July or September! Hope to see you at a Racketlon tournament soon!Ladies’ Day: 14th May 11am .

The monthly Wednesday Quiz night continues to gain momentum with new Summer dates announced. Come along 9pm Wednesday night after Social Tennis: 18th May – ‘Lucy Squared’ 15th June – ‘Andy’s Brain Teasers’ 13th July – ‘The Hardy Banjo’Last Call for Auction Lots: .
We’ll release details over the coming month – but the Great Grafton Auction is coming together brilliantly. We have some truly exceptional lots from some very generous members.
