COVID-19: Tennis Court Access
Dear Graftoners,
Following the announcement from the government on Sunday, and subsequent LTA guidelines we are pleased to announce that we will re-opening the Tennis Courts from 10am Wednesday 13th May. We hope the re-opening of the Squash courts will follow in the not too distant future.
It is vital we do this with the health and safety of all members as top priority.
Please take time to carefully read the below so we stay within LTA guidelines and keep each other safe by facilitating adherence to social distancing measures. It is the shared responsibility of all members to ensure we remain in a position to keep the courts open.
Access
The only area of the club that will be accessible will be the tennis courts, the Club house, social areas, changing and shower facilities remain closed. As soon as we able to reinstate regular cleaning arrangements, the Men’s cubicles form a Unisex toilet facility, a further notification will follow in this regard.
First aid kits will be available near the rear entrance of the club house.
Guidelines
Please respect social distancing rules in all areas
All courts must be pre-booked using the mycourts booking system, please leave 10mins before the end of your booking and, do not arrive at the club in the hope of securing a court.
Play is limited to club members only for singles, or doubles providing all players are from the same household. (the club facilities are not available to guests at this time)
All players should bring adequate hand sanitisation and wipes for use before and after play
Avoid touching your face and try not to touch any surfaces.
Consider using your personal marked tennis balls when serving
Wear gloves when handling net height handles and clay court sweepers
Players are advised not to change ends during play.
Ensure that there is no physical contact at all between players.
Play should take place during daylight hours. Floodlights will not be available
Once play has finished players should leave the club promptly
No other ‘extra-curricular’ or social activity should take place. Please do not bring your own post-match drinks.
Note; At this time all competitions and leagues remain suspended
The above could change at very short notice, and we will be constantly reviewing the LTA and Squash England advice.
We sincerely hope that this is start of the re-opening of your club, and that brighter times lie ahead.
