Greetings Graftonites, A tough fortnight beckons as we synchronise our sleeping patterns to Melbourne hours, for the first Tennis Slam of the year. Nevertheless we still have Grafton business to tend to, as follows here: - SQUASH LEAGUES - WIMBLEDON OPT-IN - DATES FOR YOUR DIARY (please note the Squash Finals!) ***If you wish to put an announcement in next Monday’s broadcast, the only way to do so is by sending your broadcast to graftoncomms@gmail.com by Friday 6pm.*** Squash Box Leagues Graeme Hogarth has taken over the running of the squash box leagues. A big thanks to Spencer Williams for all his efforts with the leagues and hoping that his knee recovers sufficiently to see him back on court in the future. As the standard scoring system for squash has now moved from the old Hi-Lo system to American scoring first to 15 we are trying to encourage this scoring in the box leagues. We are also excluding anyone from the next leagues if they have not played any matches in the previous league. This is simply to ensure that all players get at least 4 matches per league session. For the past two months an email has been sent to all concerned to warn them of this and allow them to opt back in. It won't happen again, but if you haven’t played any games but still want to be in the next leagues then simply email Graeme in advance of the new league being set up. Finally, if anyone has any suggestions regarding how best to run these leagues then please email Graeme (graeme.hogarth@kcl.ac.uk). Wimbledon Opt-In Deadline for applying for Wimbledon tickets for is end of this month! . The LTA very kindly provides Grafton with a given number of tickets for the Championships. We then run an internal ballot and allocate them to our lucky winners. The only way in which you can be considered for our internal lottery is if you "opt-in" on the below link: https://www.lta.org.uk/major-events/grand-slams/wimbledon/ballots/ So please, "opt-in"! While this does not guarantee you tickets to Wimbledon, the more people "opt-in" then the more Wimbledon tickets will be allocated to Grafton, and the better your odds!
