CHARITY QUIZ NIGHT (Wed 13 September from 9pm)
We know you've missed them - and now, after a short summer break, Quiz Nights are back!
The September Quiz will be extra special as all proceeds go towards Prostate Cancer UK. Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men, affecting 1 in 8 at some point in their life. Men United (Prostate Cancer UK) are an excellent charity promoting research, treatment and support for everyone affected by prostate cancer. Which is why, on 13 September our Quiz master for the evening Dave Millar, is putting his legs and (apparently) nipples on the line by running the Berlin Marathon. It's his first marathon, and it may well be his only. So it would be great to raise as much as possible in sponsorship, so he never has to do it again!
RECYCLING TENNIS BALLS
This may not be the most glamorous of announcements, but still worth bearing in mind. In case you didn't know, we recycle tennis balls for cash. We have just been given the happy news that for every 200 balls we recycle we will now receive £35.
So this makes it all the more important to drop old balls into the bin outside the kitchen as this is a nice little money earner for the Club.
