SURREY CUP SQUASH TEAMS

For the 2021/22 squash season we are hoping to run 3 (mixed) teams plus a vintage (over 55) team. Matches are scheduled to start from 20th September and we are in the process of nominating players for the teams. If you are interested in playing competitive team squash, please contact Peter Gray or Graeme Hogarth as soon as you can.

The teams play in the evenings from 730pm every 1 or 2 weeks, usually alternating home and away fixtures throughout Surrey. To facilitate on-boarding of new team players, we will be running a session next Saturday 11th September from 4pm . Team captains will be there to help assess your level and the most appropriate team placing for you. Again, please let Peter or Graeme know if you want to come along to the session.

JUNIOR SQUASH AUTUMN TERM COURSES!

We are launching our junior squash programmes for the Autumn Term (14 weeks). Sessions will run weekly on Mondays (Bronze and Silver); Wednesdays (Gold) and Saturdays (all). The courses will be for children aged 7-18. No experience is required, and rackets and balls will be provided. The sessions will be about the FUN-damentals…having fun is a must but also developing hand-eye co-ordination, agility, balance, speed and squash technique.

All sessions will be run by our Squash Head Coach Marco, who has many years of experience coaching junior squash players.

Please get in touch with Marco through Whatsapp to 07593437063 or email 2dotsquash@gmail.com for more details and to sign your kids up!

MIDWEEK SOCIALS ARE BACK (Wed 8 Sept)

We’re happy to announce that the most awaited Squash Wednesday Social is back from this Wednesday! Supervised by our Head Coach Marco, it is a great opportunity to meet different players and in the end maybe a visit to the bar to enjoy our refurbished clubhouse. With an easy registration process through the MyCourts system, one great improvement is that *SOCIAL SQUASH GOES CASHLESS*.

It’s a simple process:

* Top up your club account - MyCourts ‘Your Account’ menu option

* Register for your selected Social(s) - Mycourts ‘Tournament’ menu option

Bookings can be made and cancelled at any time, and all major cards are accepted.

WOMEN’S SQUASH WEEK AND “2021 GIRLS CAN OPEN”

Women's Squash Week (19-26 September) is an international campaign that aims to celebrate and raise the profile of female squash and Squash 57. This year's campaign is all about engaging female players in squash and Squash 57 activities following the challenges of lockdowns and restrictions.

Grafton Squash is joining this year's celebration and our Squash Head Coach Marco will be offering 30min trial sessions to all our Graftonites. We'll also host our first female-only tournament on 25 September between 5pm to 8pm (depending on the number of entries) – the “2021 GIRLS CAN OPEN”! Marco will be obviously supervising the tournament and giving some tips. Everyone’s welcome regardless of experience and no equipment is required! Come support and join the 2021 “Women’s Squash Week”! To enrol use the Mycourts/tournaments system.

For more information please contact Marco through Whatsapp to 07593437063 or email 2dotsquash@gmail.com.
