CLUB CHAMPS FINALS DAY (Sat 20 July)
After 3 months of blood, sweat and tantrums, we are fast approaching our Finals Day on Saturday 20th July! The day is a culmination of the summer’s tennis where our top players battle it out one last time for their names to go down in Grafton history...who will triumph in a blaze of glory and who will fall at the final hurdle?
The day promises to be a fun-filled affair with no less than 16 matches to be played, including 4 junior finals.
Come down from 11am to enjoy a day of top-notch tennis and to lend your support to your fellow members. There’s also lots of other activities to get involved in including social tennis, see how you fare against our new coach and ex-tennis pro Alex War, test your serve in the speed gun competition, and enjoy some seasonal cocktails at our new pop up bar on Murray’s Mound.
But (almost) as important as the day’s tennis, the Grafton Bake Off is back! Bake your masterpiece, and enter it into the competition for a chance of winning a very special prize. Needless to say, all of the delectable entries will be available to buy on the day for anyone needing a sugar boost!
Hope to see as many of you there as possible, and if you’re able to assist us on the day help is needed on the BBQ, on The Chronicle, judging the Bake-Off, behind the bar, running the speed gun competition etc. If you’re happy to volunteer, please email graftonclubchamps@gmail.com!
JEGAN'S WILD JACK OFF (Wed 10 July, 9pm)
The last quiz before a brief summer hiatus is almost upon us, and with a name like this who knows what quiz master debutants Jegan and Jack have lined up. Are you brave enough to find out? Do you even what to find out?... Of course you do. Have you got what it takes to conquer the quiz labyrinth that will be cast before you? So many questions – answer them all and win the prize!

WIMBLEDON FINALS BONANZA (Sat 13 and Sun 14 July, both at 2pm)
This weekend sees the culmination of Wimbledon 2019. Come down to the club on Saturday and/or Sunday to watch the ladies' and men's finals respectively, have a drink and play some tennis. Sunday Social will go ahead as usual, and there are courts available on Saturday if you want to have a hit. Both finals begin at 2pm. The weather is looking good so hope to see lots of you down there!
FULLER'S TOUR (Sat 27 July, 2pm)
We are delighted to announce details of an afternoon that is sure to wet the taste buds of all London Pride drinkers. Saturday 27th July marks the date of a Grafton exclusive TOUR of the Fullers Brewery, London, W4 2QB. As well as the chance to see how the magic happens, you get to sample the spoils. The event is free of charge, but registration is essential. To register please e-mail Norman Lucas: normanlucas50@yahoo.com.
Tour starts at 3pm. Meet at 2pm at the George and Devonshire just round the corner from brewery. First come, first serve! Register by Thursday 11th.
FRIDAY SOCIAL (Fri 12 July, 7pm)
There is a Friday Night Tennis session this Friday from 7, all abilities welcome; turn up and play!
