What? Premier One Day Doubles Tournament
When? Saturday 23rd June 0930 til late
Why? Another chance for Grafton Glory, or at least a fun-packed day of tennis!
For the Grafton faithful, the Grafton Cup needs little introduction. However for new members, or those who have donated a few brain cells in the name of the Grafton bar, let me remind you.
It is the premier annual one-day doubles tournament where 24 pairs are split into four round-robins. The top 2 of each group go on to compete for the Cup, the middle two for the Plate, and 5th and 6th pairs aiming to sneak some silverware in the form of the Saucer. You are therefore guaranteed at least six sets of tennis throughout the day, which will start with registration at 0930 culminating in the finals around 1800. This is truly an excellent day filled with competitive tennis for all levels.
Entry is open NOW. To guarantee your place please email graftoncup@gmail.com stating who you would like to play with. If you haven’t got a partner but don’t want to miss out, don’t worry - we will match you up. Regardless don’t hang around as entry is always oversubscribed!
Entry costs £10 per person. This includes tournament entry, balls and a sandwich lunch all provided. This will be collected on the day so nothing more for you to worry about than emailing and keeping the date clear in your diary. Oh and pray for sun!
