29th March - The Re-Opening

That'a right folks…following the road map outlined by the Government today, we are relieved to confirm that we’ll be reopening our doors on 29th March, starting with our Tennis Courts.

We’ll announce more details nearer the time, but the latest from the LTA can be found below, along with a grid of permissible activities

https://www.lta.org.uk/about-us/tennis-news/news-and-opinion/general-news/2020/march/coronavirus-covid-19---latest-advice/

We await an update from Squash England on guidance for a return to play, we hope to see this soon.

Membership Updates

Now that we have some clarity on the way forward, we wanted to give you update on where things stand with membership fees etc.

As with previous lockdowns the club have had to balance:

  • The short / medium-term health of the club
  • The levels of compensation / membership extensions we can finance
  • The constant disruption that will have been caused to our squash only membership for over a year.

As we hope you can appreciate this is not an easy balance to try and strike; membership fees and bar revenue are the club’s main source of revenue, and will be the funding source for all essential maintenance and developmental spend over the coming years.

With this in mind we hope all members will find the following agreeable.

Tennis + Tennis and Squash Memberships

Following the shutdown down at the end of 2020, all memberships will be extended by a period of 1 month and, the free lights period extended by 2 months to conclude at the end of May.

Squash Only Memberships

Following the shutdown at the start of November all memberships will be extended for a duration capped at 6 months. This will be the maximum extension period the club will be able to finance. Renewals will re-commence on or before 1st May 2021.

As always our sincere thanks for the support and patience during these challenging times

  • Dare we whisper it ?......the Bar
  • Dare we even think it ? ......dates for your diary

Continue to take care and stay safe and well
