Greetings Graftonites,

Much like everything these days, this week's bulletin is heavily impacted by updates relating to Covid-19 and how we, as a Club, are trying to look after each other and our neighbours in the wider community. These points are essential, so do read on:

- SOCIAL DISTANCING, A MUST, NOT A CHOICE!
- NOISE COMPLAINTS
- WASHING OUR HANDS

SOCIAL DISTANCING- A MUST, NOT A CHOICE!

A firm reminder that it is essential to respect social distancing and quarantine guidelines. As a club we are implementing these without prejudice. Choosing to ignore these due personal alternate views unfairly imposes those views on others.

Please maintain a minimum of 1m distance when drinking on the patio. This means no more than 2 people per bench. No more than 4 people at a table. No exceptions! We now have plenty of chairs and fairy lights in the garden so we can safely enjoy each other's company without putting others at risk.

Under no circumstances should members sit or congregate inside the club house. Unless you are volunteering to run the bar during designated hours, the only time members should be in the club house is when making a purchase from the bar.

If you are returning from a trip that requires you to self isolate please do not visit the club until your quarantine period is complete.

Please complete the track and trace sign-in book if your name is not on the court booking sheets. Also when attending social tennis or team practice sessions.

If you have any symptoms or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 symptoms do not place others at risk so you can play tennis or squash.

These are challenging times, but as a club we will have little choice but to act in accordance with government guidelines.

Thanks to all of you for your help and understanding.

NOISE COMPLAINTS

It’s great to see so many of you enjoying the summers nights, on court, and with a beverage on the patio. We have unfortunately had several strong complaints from our neighbours, and subsequent notices from Lambeth Council relating to early and late night noise from the bar. During these pandemic times in which communities are more reliant on each other, the club places an increased emphasis on ensuring we act in consideration of our neighbours.

The following rules relating to the bar and playing hours must be adhered to:

The bar closes at 11pm on weekends. All members must have the left the club by this time
Last orders at the bar are set to 10:30pm. Please do not ask bar volunteers to serve you after this time

Play is only permissible between 8am and 10pm. Play outside these hours is strictly prohibited. Our eagle-eyed readers will have noticed that we've been lucky enough to extend playing hours, so rather than having to start play 0900, you early-birds can now start at 0800. Mycourts has been updated to reflect this.

WASHING OUR HANDS

This shouldn't be news to anyone, but the best ways to contain the spread of the virus are maintaining social distancing (see above) and washing our hands more frequently than we would have normally done. Before stepping on court and immediately after stepping off court, we need to resist the temptation of going straight to the bar. We instead need to immediately reach for the hand sanitiser or go wash our hands for at least 20 seconds. Let's all try to do our bit and be diligent about all these measures in place for our health and safety.

Thanks.
