COVID19 UPDATE

What newsletter would be complete without yet another update on COVID-19…'Yay' we hear you say!

As you may be aware, the only area of the club that remains open are the tennis courts (we had hoped we could keep the toilets open, but to no avail). A LL OTHER AREAS OF THE CLUB ARE CLOSED AND OFF LIMITS. This is subject to strict social distancing and hygiene practices being employed. Please keep your safety and, the safety of others, in mind at all times.

The first aid kits will be available near the rear door of the club house.

Please see the link below for further advice on how make your time on court as safe as possible:

https://www.lta.org.uk/about-us/tennis-news/news-and-opinion/general-news/2020/march/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for-venues/

To emphasise:

IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU LIVE/WORK WITH HAS SYMPTOMS, PLEASE DO NOT PLAY TENNIS FOR 14 DAYS - WE DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO SHUT THE CLUB COMPLETELY

Activity should only take place where travel to and from the courts can be done in a way compliant with social distancing advice;

If you are not confident that you can adhere to the social distancing guidance when undertaking tennis and coaching activities in doubles format, you should only engage in this activity with two players per court;

Players are advised not to change ends during play;

Ensure no physical contact between players during warm-ups or games;

No extra-curricular or social activity should take place;

Most importantly stay healthy, stay safe, and take care of each other.

SPLENDID IN ISOLATION

It looks likely that we're going to be spending considerable time in splendid isolation. So let's look at fun things do from the comfort of our sofas.

We already have a puzzle club in place. If you'd like to get on the mindfulness train to puzzle central, then drop J ulie a text 07957430307, join the WhatAapp group and find out where the 'Grafton Puzzle drop-box is'.

We're currently looking into how we can host on-line quiz nights, social media hangouts and other fun stuff.

LET'S KEEP THE VIBE ALIVE!
