Greetings Graftonites, Tennis players, Squash players, Racketlon players and Socialites-- this week's edition is pertinent to all of you! Boisterous support is needed as we do battle for the first sporting and intellectual silverware of the new year. See below: - CLOSED SQUASH FINAL - QUIZ NIGHTS RETURN - DATES FOR YOUR DIARY ***If you wish to put an announcement in next Monday’s broadcast, the only way to do so is by sending your broadcast to graftoncomms@gmail.com by Friday 6pm.*** Closed Squash Final, 22 Jan The final of the 2016 Grafton Closed Squash Tournament will take place on Sunday 22nd January as part of the popular Social Squash Evening. It will begin at 6.30pm with a best of three third place play-off match between the first team captain Louis Robjant and coach Graeme Hogarth. The main final (best of five) is scheduled for 7.00pm with GB Racketlon Representative Luke Barnes facing Andy Pauer who has only ever lost one competitive game at the club. Come along and watch the action – there will still be two courts available for those wanting to play, and all three before the matches start. Tennis players? Come along and watch the action and see what Squash is all about with a view to the big RACKETLON event on 13 May (save the date!) To encourage support, after the Squash finals the Bar will be serving drinks at the (even more) reduced price of £2.50 Quiz Nights Return Just in case it takes you a while to get those brain gears moving again after the Christmas break we thought we’d line up the first of the quiz of the year for you! What’s more, we have some new Quiz masters in store, who are ready to limber up our brain cells! 9pm @ The Bar on Wed 18 Jan is where new quiz champions will be crowned – and of course social tennis before is a must.
